Hospital Emergency Departments

✔  For life-threatening or severe injuries.  If ambulance or paramedics are needed, call 911.

Examples:  Chest pain, trouble breathing; Significant head injury; Serious burn or cut; Weakness, numbness on one side, slurred speech; Vaginal bleeding in pregnancy; Broken bone


Urgent Care Clinics

✔  For moderate to serious illness or injury that isn’t life-threatening.

Examples:  Sprain or strain; Vomiting, stomach cramping, diarrhea; Fever without a rash; Wheezing; Minor cut that may need stitches


Walk-In Clinic  

✔  For mild to moderate illness.

Examples:  Ear or eye pain; Sore throat; Cough; Cold or flu; Rash without fever; Painful urination


MN Regional Poison Center 

In cases of suspected poisoning, call 1-800-222-1222.  Do not wait for symptoms to appear. If the person is unconscious or in immediate distress, call 911.

Mental Health Crisis Teams

Crisis Teams can travel to your location to assess a situation.  Call 988 from anywhere in MN to request help from your counties team.


Residential mental health treatment:

Residential Crisis Stabilization (RCS) - Short-term (10 day) residential mental health care in RCS locations throughout the state.

Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) - 90 day treatment programs serving adults with mental health needs throughout MN.


Peer Support Hotlines

Staffed by trained volunteers with lived experience of mental illness.


Walk-In Counseling Center
